Strides in Psychotherapy, P.C.

FAQ

Do you offer in person or virtual appointments?
Yes, we offer both. We do ask that younger children are seen in person.

Are your offices handicapped accessible?
Yes, our Somerset Office is handicapped accessible. However, our Morristown Office is not.

How much does therapy cost?
For our most recent fees, please call our office staff—they can generally be reached on weekdays from 8:30 AM-4:30 PM at 732-873-5570.

What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel your appointment, please let your therapist know as soon as possible, both out of courtesy to your therapist and also in order to maximize your options for rescheduling, if desired. People who cancel therapy sessions with at least 48-hours’ notice are not charged for the missed appointment. Sessions cancelled with less than 48-hours’ notice will be charged 75% of their full session rate (not just the coinsurance part). This is because it is often not possible to fill that time slot without adequate notice, and we cannot bill insurance companies for missed appointments.
Any exceptions to this are at the therapist’s discretion, and are generally based on emergent reasons for cancellation, such as a serious illness or injury, a sudden death in the family, etc.

Is paperwork a requirement?
Yes–we require you to complete all intake paperwork prior to your first appointment. In addition, whenever your insurance or payment information changes, we require you to inform us of this in a timely manner and complete the required paperwork updates.  If someone begins therapy as a minor but turns 18 while being seen at our practice, new adult paperwork must be completed by that person at that milestone.  Strides may periodically update their forms or require additional forms to be completed and signed as well, depending on the circumstances.

When is payment due for my sessions?
Payment is due at the time of service. If you would like to pay in advance, please contact our Office Manager at Officemanager@stridesinpsych.com or call 732-873-5570

What happens if I do not have insurance or need to see someone in-network?
For people who do not have insurance, or whose insurance does not have out-of-network benefits (including Medicare and Medicaid), you can pay our full fee out-of-pocket or else we can assist you in finding an in-network provider.  If you would like to be seen at Strides but paying in full poses a financial hardship for you, please let us know, as we may be able to negotiate a somewhat reduced fee with you.
